Mr Parnell is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in glaucoma, cataract and comprehensive ophthalmology. He is based at The Royal Eye Unit, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust having previously worked as the glaucoma lead at the Princess Royal University Hospital, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

He provides expertise in all aspects of glaucoma including medical treatment, laser treatment and surgical treatments (trabeculectomy, aqueous shunts and minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery).

​

He also has a special interest in cataract surgery and is comprehensively trained in diagnosing and treating general eye complaints. 

​

He obtained his medical degree from Imperial College, London and completed his ophthalmology training in London with further subspecialty experience in glaucoma via a glaucoma fellowship at King's College Hospital.


Prior to his ophthalmology training he carried out research in glaucoma at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London as part of the Glaucoma and Retinal Neurodegeneration Group where he was awarded an MSc. with distinction.
